Frankly speaking, the idea of establishing an ideal & quality English-Medium school in our locality is the dream that haunts us day after day, & hopefully, with the launching of the Doon International School at Pifa, Basirhat under the supervision of Basirhat Rabindra Nazrul Educational & Social Welfare Trust.

We can say that our dreams as well as the inhabitants of West Bengal are going to be fulfilled. Here we pay our deep indebtedness to Mr. D.S. Mann, Chairman, Doon International School Dehradun, all the trustees – members of Basirhat Rabindra Nazrul Educational & Social Welfare Trust and all our well-wishers for launching of West Bengal’s first branch of Doon International School at Pifa, Basirhat, 24 PGS (N). We hope that they will continue their unrelenting support to the school in its endeavors. As we are all aware, with the advancement of civilization, our expectations of complexity have been developed. Here we feel the need for an equipped and ideal educational institution that will cope with the physical, psychological, and social changes and ups and downs of the learners. On the other hand, in a multi–lingual country like ours we cannot go successfully without English in our academic, administrative, professional, personal, or commercial life as English has been given the status of the official language by UNO so at present with due respect to our regional language, English is given the status of official language in India. Besides in this era of globalization, English is the only gateway through which we can communicate with the global world. S now a day we should not think of any other language as a medium for maintaining the teaching-learning process in educational institutions. Lacking quality English medium schools in Basirhat and neighboring areas, the learners of these are gradually retreating from the rest of the students of the country. Consequentially our dream project DOON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, BASIRHAT is launched in BASIRHAT, North 24 Parganas, W.B.

Here is this perspective all the conscious parents, guardians, and well-wishers are informed that DIS, Basirhat is not only a model school of CBSC Board English-medium Schools in which knowledge is passed on through efficient teachers to pupils but also equally a place where children are enabled to understand and support human values, national integrity, Indian traditions and patriotism. We are proud to declare that DIS, Basirhat will follow the strictly set standards and best practices of DIS, Dehradun, and keep pace with the challenging needs of education through the use of innovative methods and aids of chairman, DIS, Dehradun. Besides as there is always room for improvements, suggestions will not only be welcomed but also highly appreciated. May almighty always grace us as we go on!
